6 days gorilla trekking wildlife rwanda experience safari
Day 1: KIGALI CITY EXPLORATION
Start historical-minded exploration of Kigali city with visits to landmarks from colonial, post-independence, genocide and post-genocide times. Memorial site where over 259,000 genocide victims were put to rest in mass graves, Dr. Richard Kandt Museum who was the first Germany explorer to settle in Kigali, Belgian camp where they killed the 10 Belgian UN soldiers who were protecting the moderate prime minister before the start of genocide
Transfer to Akagera National Park. Arrival and proceed to the sunset boat cruise to see the schools of hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, different bird species, etc. Overnight: – Akagera Game Lodge
DAY 2: AKAGERA NATIONAL PARK GAME DRIVE & TRANSFER TO KIGALI
Early breakfast followed by the Game drive in search of the big 5 animals i.e. Lion, Leopard, Rhino, Buffalo and Elephant, get opportunity to see over 12 species of antelopes, over 525 species of birds including the rare ones such as the shoe bill stock, papyrus gynolek, to mention but a few. The park has the highest concentration of birds per square kilometer, very beautiful undulating landscapes, high species numbers and endemic species plus historical and cultural sites inside the park.
Transfer back to Kigali_ Overnight Scheba Hotel
Day 3: TRANSFER TO VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK & GORILLA TREKKING
Early morning transfer to Volcanoes National Park, arrival and completing park formalities then embark on a once in a life time experience of tracking mountain gorillas. Once you spot them you are allowed to spend an hour watching your closest long lost cousin. This is perhaps one of the most breathtaking wildlife experiences on earth!!! You get so close to these awesome giant primates. You stare at each other blankly not knowing who to break the long silence first. Tracking the gorillas through the light mountain forest on the slopes of the Virunga is a magical experience.
Be back at the base in time for lunch! Some gorilla families however are more elusive and tracking can take a full day, especially when it is wet and muddy. Overnight at Ste Anne Hotel
DAY 4: GOLDEN MONKEYS & TRANSFER TO NYUNGWE NATIONAL PARK
Breakfast and return to the entrance of the Park early morning for briefing followed by the trek to see the Golden Monkeys. It is now believed that they are the only feasible population of Golden Monkeys residing in Volcanoes National Park. They are beautiful and endangered primates which have become quite habituated to humans, making it possible to observe them closely.
After lunch at the hotel, transfer to Nyungwe National Park.

Day 5: CHIMPANZEE TREKKING IN NYUNGWE
Early breakfast at 4:30am then drive to the edge of the forest where chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe starts. In the afternoon, visit the waterfall. Overnight: -Gisakura Guesthouse
Day 6: CANOPY WALK WAY IN NYUNGWE & TRANSFER TO KIGALI
Breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the park reception for briefings followed by the canopy walk way experience.
Transfer back to Kigali
